Pool drain and clean, and acid wash

When a pool has years of stains, scale or a bloom that chemicals alone won't clear, draining it and cleaning the shell is the reset. On concrete and plaster pools, an acid wash strips a thin surface layer to remove stains and bring the finish back.

How it works

  • Site check before draining: pool type, finish, water table and weather
  • Controlled draining and removal of debris and sludge
  • Pressure cleaning, or an acid wash on concrete and plaster finishes
  • Rinse and neutralize, then refill
  • Start-up chemical balancing and filter check, with a report and photos

Why draining needs care in Costa Rica

In the rainy season and in coastal areas the ground water can sit high. An empty in-ground pool can be pushed up by that water pressure, so we check conditions and plan the timing before draining.

Acid washing is for concrete and plaster pools. Vinyl and fiberglass pools are cleaned with methods suited to their surface.

Price

Every drain and clean is quoted on site after a diagnostic: it depends on pool size, finish and condition. You get the quote before any work starts.

Frequently asked questions

How often should a pool be drained?

Only when needed: heavy staining, scale, very high dissolved solids, or a bloom that won't clear. With weekly service most pools go years between drains.

Who does the work?

Our own technicians, with extensive hands-on experience maintaining pools on the Pacific coast every week. Ask us anything about how we will handle your pool before we start.
